Notice to Nigerians Residing in Washington DC, States of Maryland and Virginia

The Embassy wishes to inform that the officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service will be at the Chancery building – 3519 International Court, NW, Washington, DC 20008 from Friday 18th – 20th July 2008 to test run the E-passports processing system. Consequently, Nigerians who wish to obtain the E-passports should apply and make payments online through Nigerian Immigration website – www.Immigration.gov.ng.

2.         Applicants are to come along with the following:
            (i)         Old/Expired Nigerian Standard Passport
            (ii)        Copy of United States Birth Certificate for first time applicants
                        And copy of either parent’s Nigerian Standard passport
            (iii)       Proof of on-line payment
            (iv)       Pre-paid self addressed envelope
            (v)        Twenty dollars money order (Processing fee) payable to the
                        Embassy of Nigeria, Washington, DC.
3.         Meanwhile, the Embassy wishes to re-iterate that the Machine Readable Passports (MRP) remain tenable and valid till July 2010.
