The attention of the Nigerian Embassy, Washington, DC has been drawn to an online website, soliciting payment of one hundred and fifty-nine dollars ($159) from unsuspecting Applicants under the guise of processing Nigerian passport.
Please be informed that Innovate 1 Service is the only legitimate online payment agency authorized by the Nigeria Immigration Service to accept payments for the processing of Nigerian passport and visa. The fee for Nigerian passport is one hundred and six dollars ($106), and one hundred and eighty dollars ($180) is the visa fee for American passport holders.
Applicants are advised to visit the Nigerian Embassy’s website at http://www.nigeriaembassyusa.org open the Consular tab and scroll to the bottom page to read the step-by-step guidelines for processing Nigerian passport and visa as well as payment instructions.
Applicants wishing to log on directly to Nigeria Immigration Service’s website to begin the online passport or visa application form can access the website at https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/pages/welcome. After completing the application form, proceed to payment. Using your Application ID and Reference number, make the passport or visa fee payment with your credit or debit card. If you do not have a credit or debit card, you can purchase money order (preferably from the post office) and associate the money order to your Application ID and Reference number. A sample is displayed on the payment page screen for guidance.
From the foregoing, Applicants are WARNED to desist from visiting or patronizing any third party’s website when applying and making payment towards obtaining Nigerian passport or visa.
