Independence Parade to be held on September, 28

The year 2002, Nigeria Independence Day Parade will hold on Saturday, September 18, 2002 from 12 noon. The parade will start from 54th Street on 2nd Avenue and will terminate in front of Nigeria House on 44th Street.

According to a release by the organizers, this year's parade is dedicated to the victims of September 11, 2001 terror attacks and late Mr. Ayodele Fatomiloye a Nigerian activist who passed away on March 17, 2002. Both Nigerian and non-Nigerian groups are invited to participate in the parade which will incorporate musical and cultural displays.
