PRESIDENTIAL TECHNICAL COMMITTEE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF COAL PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA

CALL FOR MEMORANDA

The Federal Government of Nigeria, in its desire to place coal in its rightful position in the nation's energy mix and other uses, directed that a Presidential Technical Committee be constituted to develop a strategic action plan for the national coal industry. The Honourable Minister for Solid Minerals Development on behalf of Mr. President, inaugurated the Technical Committee on Friday 23rd May, 2003.

The Committee hereby calls for memoranda from all interested persons, investors, entrepreneurs, corporate bodies, past and present managers of any coal companies within and outside Nigeria, investors interested in coal briquetting, coal fired thermal power generation, users of industrial coal fired furnaces, etc.

The memoranda should be typed, double spaced and not more than five (5) pages. A diskette copy should please be enclosed where possible. The package should be addressed and sent to:

All memoranda should reach the office on or before the 31st July 2003, with full contact details including telephone, fax and e-mail. Contributors may be invited to make verbal presentation on their submissions.
