NIPC Hosts Investment Forum in Washington

The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission recently hosted a one day business and investment forum here in Washington, United States of America.

The forum which attracted prominent business and investment players from Nigeria and the United States featured break-out sessions for agriculture, oil and gas, manufacturing, power, solid minerals, communications and services sector of the Nigerian economy.

Position papers on investment and business related issues between Nigeria and the United States were presented by Nigeria's Ambassador to the United States, Professor Jibril Aminu, Nigeria's Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Adamu Bello who represented the Vice President of Nigeria, Mrs. Dupe Adelaja Nigeria's Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Magnus Kpakol, Chief Economic Adviser to the President, Thelma Askey, Director, United States Trade and Development Agency and a representative of the American Ambassador to Nigeria.

Others who presented papers include Dr. (Mrs.) Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, Director General Nigerian Stock Exchange, Engineer Joseph Makoju, CEO, National Electric Power Authority, Dr. Biodun Olorunfemi, CEO, Nigerian Mining Corporation, Donna Simms Wilson, CEO, Loop Capital Market (Chicago), Honurable Nduka Irabor, Chairman House of Representative Committee on Communication. The two private sector took advantage of the forum to initiate business deals to their mutual advantage.
