Mrs. Akinkuolie's Remains Taken to Nigeria
The remains of Late Mrs. Lilian Chidiebere Akinkuolie, the Head of the Consular and Immigration Section in the Embassy of Nigeria, Washington, DC was taken to Nigeria, on Sunday March 23, 2003, aboard the Royal Dutch Airlines, KLM which departed Dulles International Airport at 6.00 p.m.
Earlier, on Saturday March 22, a Funeral/Farewell Service was held for the late diplomat at the Robert Pumphery Funeral Home in Bethesda, Maryland. The service which attracted a large congregation of family members, relations, friends and colleagues of the deceased, commenced at 11.00 a.m. and lasted one hour. Ministers who conducted the service were Pastor Lawrence Adetunji from the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries and Pastor David Wong of the Washington International Church. Mrs. Akinkuolie a devoted Christian was a prominent member of the two churches.
Mrs. Lilian Akinkuolie died at the Georgetown University Hospital on Tuesday March 11, 2003 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband and two children.
